Both my dad and myself started at Michigan Tech in the upper peninsula. MTU for those that dont know was a mining school started in the Keewenaw copper boom of last century. The mines have shut down for now, but mountains of rock that were mined to get the copper remain. We have several stunning pieces in the shop, and whenever I get the chance I am down slicing up promising minerals and hunting for the next interesting specimen.
